In the intense summer of 2025, our team spent days traveling across the Sutlej River belt in search of elite Nili-trait buffaloes. Despite long journeys and extreme heat, we returned to the farm without finding a single animal that met our standards.

The very next day, a call came from Hota Village.

One of our trusted team members informed us about a newly calved heifer near the river. Sensing potential, we instructed him to stay with the owner overnight and carefully test her milk yield.

That night changed everything.

During milking, he was stunned by her performance. On just her fourth to fifth day after first calving, Basanti crossed 16+ kilograms — an extraordinary achievement for a first-time heifer. Without waiting for formal approval, he finalized the deal on the spot and requested immediate payment. Trusting his judgment, we completed the transaction.

When Basanti arrived at Saab Farms, she exceeded every expectation.

Her milk flowed thick and soft like fresh malai. Her horns were so small and tightly curved that they could be hidden under two fingers — a rare sign of refined Nili lineage. With more than 95% Nili traits, she began competing directly with our most experienced top milkers.

Today, Basanti stands as proof that true quality reveals itself early — when genetics, environment, and care come together.

Reet is not just a buffalo at Saab Farms — she is a story of passion, commitment, and respect for animal welfare.

During our search for elite Nili-trait buffaloes across Punjab, our team traveled to the Sutlej River belt near Arifwala. There, among many good animals, one golden-brown buffalo immediately captured our hearts. Her structure, curled horns, bright moti eyes, and strong Nili traits were exceptional.

We offered a premium price, but the owner refused. It was only her second day after calving, and in the extreme May–June heat, both Reet and her calf were tied in the open sun. Despite increasing our offer, we had to return without her.

Yet, we could not forget her beauty and genetics.

Driven by instinct and responsibility, we traveled nearly 300 kilometers again to find her. When we reached, her calf was still thirsty, unattended, and exposed to heat. We lifted the calf into shade, gave it water, and called the owner. We expressed our concern over the mistreatment and firmly insisted on bringing Reet to a better home.

That day, Reet finally came to Saab Farms.

At the time, she was suffering from hypocalcemia and weakness. For over a month, our team provided traditional recovery herbs, balanced nutrition, and constant care. Slowly, she regained strength — and then proved her true worth.

Reet went on to become one of the best performers of our 2025 herd, delivering consistent high-quality milk and demonstrating outstanding stamina.

Golden’s journey at Saab Heritage Farms is a story of faith, vision, and true animal husbandry.

She was selected from Chodhu Chak, Gujrat, where she was found in weak condition, suffering from fever, and kept separately from the main herd. Alongside her was her beautiful female calf with golden hair. Both appeared underfed, neglected, and largely overlooked.

Despite her condition, our team recognized rare breed traits, strong horn structure, and hidden genetic potential. Without lengthy negotiation, we accepted the farmer’s demanded price and brought both mother and calf to our farm — driven by instinct and belief rather than appearances.

At the time, many questioned this decision. However, with proper nutrition, medical care, and patient nurturing, Golden recovered and revealed her true potential.

In her peak lactation in 2025, while being milked three times daily, Golden achieved an impressive 16.635 kg per day, excluding the milk consumed by her calf — proving her elite productivity.

Following her recovery and performance, Golden attracted strong interest from traders and breeders, with offers reaching up to PKR 750,000. Despite this, we chose not to sell her — and we remain uninterested even at offers reaching one million rupees — because her genetic value and emotional bond with our farm are far more important than short-term profit.

In 2025, Golden delivered a high-quality female calf, further strengthening her legacy. Her first daughter, Roma, inherited her beauty and strong traits and was successfully mounted and conceived in December 2025. Roma now represents the next generation of this exceptional bloodline.

Today, Golden, Roma, and their newest offspring form one of the most cherished and genetically valuable families at Saab Heritage Farms.

Malka stands as one of the strongest examples of pure Nili productivity at Saab Heritage Farms. She was acquired from Gago Mandi in May 2023 during the same visit when we selected another elite buffalo, Makhni.

After finalizing our purchase, our team identified Malka as an exceptional prospect from the same seller. Recognizing her genetic potential, we agreed to a premium purchase price to secure her as part of our foundation herd.

Despite appearing physically weak during her first lactation (2023–2024), Malka demonstrated extraordinary internal strength and productivity. She went on to achieve an impressive total yield of nearly 3,500 kg in her first lactation at our farm — making her one of the highest overall producers in the herd.

With over 90% Nili breed traits, Malka reflects classic Nili productivity. Her milk flow is so strong that milk often overflows from her teats if milking is delayed — a clear indicator of exceptional secretion capacity and udder efficiency.

At the time of purchase, Malka had a female calf. She later calved again in 2025 at our farm, delivering a strong male calf, further strengthening her contribution to our breeding program.

Jugni is one of the most carefully selected and performance-driven buffaloes at Saab Heritage Farms. She was acquired from Gambar Mandi, Sahiwal, in October 2023 after an extensive evaluation process.

Our selection team reviewed hundreds of buffaloes and spent several hours assessing structure, udder quality, temperament, and breed characteristics before finalizing Jugni as a foundation animal for our herd. This rigorous selection reflects our commitment to maintaining elite genetic standards.

Shortly after her arrival, Jugni was successfully mounted by our breeding bull, Jogi, and entered our breeding program. Although her first calf was unfortunately lost, she demonstrated exceptional resilience and productivity.

In her fresh lactation at our farm in 2025, Jugni achieved a remarkable daily yield of 15.520 kg, excluding approximately 5 kg consumed by her calf — placing her among the rare 20+ kg daily producers under farm-managed conditions.

Jugni is admired for her calm temperament and easy handling, reflecting strong Nili behavioral traits. Physically, her features show stronger resemblance to Ravi lineage, while her balanced structure supports high and sustained milk flow. Her distinctive open backward horns further set her apart within our herd.

In 2025, Jugni delivered a healthy male calf that shows strong growth, structure, and breed traits, strengthening our future breeding program and reinforcing her value as a genetic contributor.

Rani represents the highest standards of milk production and genetic quality at Saab Heritage Farms. Selected from the banks of River Ravi, she carries a rare and valuable combination of strong Nili and Ravi bloodlines.

Her tightly curled backward horns and balanced physical structure reflect superior breed characteristics. During her 2023–2024 lactation, Rani recorded over 3,200 kg of milk, proving her long-term productivity and resilience.

In her second lactation with us in 2025, she achieved an exceptional daily peak of 22.7 kg, excluding milk consumed by her calf — placing her among the top-performing buffaloes in farm-managed systems.

Rani is admired not only for her production but also for her temperament. She remains calm, composed, and socially balanced within the herd, rarely engaging in conflict — a sign of strong genetic stability and excellent management adaptability.

Purchased in May 2023 along with her first male calf, Rani again delivered a strong, well-built male calf in her second calving in mid 2025. Both sons display excellent growth, structure, and breed traits, making them valuable assets for our breeding program and potential future herd sires.
